Subway Blues

Today, inspired by my recent trip abroad, I decided to rekindle my relationship with the Philadelphia public transportation system (or SEPTA). I took the bus from Roxborough to 30th Street Station, and then took the Market Street Subway up to 40th Street, where I get my haircut normally. Overall, my experience was pleasant (the bus being better than the subway), even though it took me a second to get my bearings on the subway coming back. It would be a tragedy, however, to compare Philadelphia’s public transportation system with that of London. It’s a totally different level of clean, accessibility, frequency, and quality in England. The Tube is spotless and bustling, while the L is dirty and unfriendly. Makes me miss the Tube and bumming around London on those awesome double-decker buses. Cheers UK, you beat my city’s public transportation system too :) .
